19 of Daniil Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult season, achieving just one match at the major tournaments and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.

His inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in particular - resulted in him falling of the world's top 10 and finally parting ways with long-term coach his previous coach.

Now working with his coach and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually advanced in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.

This marks his initial trophy since the Italian tournament and initial on a hardcourt from spring of the previous year.

Victory also indicates the Russian has won 21 titles at twenty-one various competitions.

"It's the first time I have attended a event with my children together, so to get a title is particularly special," commented world number 14 the champion.

"This title is in tribute of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had failed in his previous six finals, comprising in that event in the past months.

Medvedev's defensive strategy and recurring reactions on the tennis court had caused some to question if his ability to play at the elite level was concluded.

But the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an improved service.

Medvedev recovered from a break down in the first set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the last five points to gain the advantage.

Both players exchanged service breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour victory, took control to push for a decider.

The opponent defended 4 early opportunities in a tight third set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, the winner secured the win with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman failing to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
